Sophia Rafeletos is a Sydney-based makeup artist with more than a decade in the industry, also offering hair styling and spray tanning. Her work has appeared in Vogue, Vogue Italia, The Australian and beyond.

For Sophia, there is no formula. Every face is different, and so is every person’s idea of beauty. Makeup should be personal — considered around the individual, their features and the way they want to feel.

Her approach is to understand that vision first, then bring her own eye to it. Sometimes that means keeping things almost imperceptible; sometimes it means making more of a statement. The result is never about recreating the same face twice, but creating something that feels distinctly theirs.

Long before makeup, there was paint. Sophia grew up drawing and painting, rarely without a brush in hand. When she discovered makeup, the connection was instinctive — the brushes, the textures, the process of creating. What began as curiosity became another medium.
